-NHS Friendraiser Burger Bash

On Thursday, August 11, 2011, NHS-Northstar Specialized Services hosted a “friendraiser” burger bash for the Chisholm Community Foundation.  The burger bash was held at the Senior Citizens Center and 275 meals were served.  NHS donated $1,775 to the CCF.
A friendraiser is an event that is sponsored by an entity where the proceeds from that event are donated to the CCF.  All CCF board members help to plan the event and also work throughout the day.  The hosting business’ donation is tax deductible, as are all donations to the CCF.
Thank you to all who stopped in for a burger that day.  Special thanks go out to NHS-Northstar Specialized Services for their time, commitment and donation to the CCF and for making the day a success.  We truly appreciate your support!

-Chisholm Community Foundation Hosts 16th Annual Golf Outing

The Chisholm Community Foundation held its 16th annual golf outing on July 25, 2011 at the Mesaba Country Club in Hibbing. One-hundred and eleven golfers participated in this year’s event.  Approximately $12,000 was raised, which will be used to defray the annual operating expenses of the CCF office.  A buffet dinner was held at Valentini’s Supper Club after the outing.

Many great prizes donated by local and out-of-town businesses and individuals were distributed.  Special thanks go out the Chisholm Area Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring the raffles and donating the proceeds to benefit the CCF.

Congratulations go out to the Hibbing Taconite team consisting of Joe Marturano, Jeff Cowling, Gary Baumgardner, Adam Osborne and Tony Zubich on winning the tourney.

Thank you to all of our hole sponsors, businesses and individuals who donated prizes and the golfers and volunteers who participated and helped with this event.  We appreciate your support!

-Third Annual Holiday Wine Tasting Event

Paul & Suzi Ruper, owners of the Keyboard Liquor Store, hosted the second annual Holiday Wine Tasting Festival on December 2, 2010 at Valentini’s Supper Club.  Six wine distributors provided over 40 different wines for sampling by the 90 people who attended the event.  The wines were once again complimented by an elegant buffet of hors d’oeuvres created by the staff at Valentini’s.  Proceeds from the event, $2,150, were donated to the Chisholm Community Foundation.  CCF Advisory Board members assisted the Rupers in planning the evening.

Thanks for your support, Paul & Suzi.  We look forward to working with you next year!
